I’ve gone through the nutritional information available here and condensed it down to this list. If in doubt, though ask your barista.
Items marked with a (c) are gluten-free in themselves but the place that makes them also processes gluten.
Cakes
All contain gluten that is in the display case. Be careful as if something in the cabinet is labelled as “gluten-free” as there is also no way to stop cross-contamination when displayed alongside gluten-containing products.
Hot Drinks
Avoid getting a drink made with oat milk as it is not gluten-free.

Hello there! I am also medically gluten-free (coeliac disease), and I had gastrointestinal symptoms of coeliac disease (bloating, cramps, abdominal pain) after drinking two sips of a ‘gluten-free’ hot chocolate from Costa Coffee today. When I asked the barista, she highlighted that “they cannot ensure that no cross-contamination occurs”, and even if you avoid oat milk in your order, they use the same steam wands as oat milk, hence incurring cross-contamination; how they are legally allowed to define this as gluten-free beats me in this case! They claim that they ‘purge’ the steam wand, but this did not stop cross-contamination in this case.
Even trace amounts of gluten can cause an autoimmune reaction and therefore physical damage to the small intestine of coeliacs, and it is really important that people with coeliac disease are aware of the gluten contamination that can occur at Costa Coffee, and any coffee chain that serves oat milk but does not separate milk types properly. If in doubt, ask the barista at the specific coffee shop and emphasise the term ‘coeliac’ to get their attention.

Hey there! I’m so sorry you felt poorly! I think there are too many places that state “gluten free” when they really shouldn’t. That’s why I state at the the start of this post that if you’re in doubt to ask your batista. Even still it’s not on I will try and get some input from cist themselves on this. Thank you for bring it to my attention. Feel better soon *gentle hugs*
